Installation of a container house generally follows a standardized sequence. The entire process is designed for screw-together assembly on-site setup is straightforward. Below is a consolidated workflow drawn from multiple sources:
Site preparation and bottom frame installation • Clear and level the ground, ensuring it is firm and even. • Lay out the bottom beams according to the layout drawing. • Use corner fittings and screws to tack the base in place, but do not fully tighten the screws yet; this allows later adjustment. • Check the entire base for level and square.
Erecting columns and beams • Attach corner fittings to each column, then stand the columns upright and set them onto the base. • Connect them to the base with screws, again leaving them slightly loose. • Install the top beams (also called roof beams). Beams and corner fittings usually have matching slots—simply engage the slots and fix by screws. • At this stage, tools such as a level must be used to straighten the angles, find the levelness, and adjust the flatness and verticality of the entire framework.
Locking the frame • After the entire framework has been adjusted to be horizontal and vertical, use an electric drill or an wrench to tighten and secure all the screws one by one to ensure the structure is stable.
Installing bottom purlins • Space the bottom purlins (square tubes) on the bottom frame, securing each with screws. • Ensure both ends of every purlin sit fully in their slots; these purlins will be supporting the floor panels.
Mounting wall panels • Begin installing side wall panels. Panels are typically designed with tongue-and-groove edges that interlock like puzzle pieces for a wind-tight fit. • Panels that accommodate doors or windows may need on-site measuring and cutting.
Laying the floor • Lay the structural floor (e.g., fibercement board) on the purlins and fasten it with screws. • Add any finished decorative flooring on top if required.
Roof frame and roof sheets • Install the roof purlins (square tubes) on top of the container and secure it with screws. • Mount the roof sheets (or roof panels) using flat-head self-drilling screws. • Seal all roof-sheet joints with sealing tape or adhesive to ensure watertightness.
Doors, windows, and trim • Install doors and windows; positions can be adjusted as needed. • Fit edge trims and flashings around openings and along the roof and wall intersections.
Electrical installation and final detailing • Install electrical distribution and any other internal services. • Apply sealant around every perimeter, over all roof and wall screws, and around doors and windows to ensure long-term waterproof. • Conduct a final inspection to verify that every fastener and component is secure and safe.
After these steps, the Container House is ready for use.
